On the western side of Sifnos island, this summer villa unfolds as a gentle dialogue between architecture and landscape. Conceived as a quiet response to the landscape, the residence folds into the terrain rather than standing apart from it. The project is a composition of two distinct volumes that follow the natural topography of the site. One recessed, one raised, they come together as a single, unified whole, shaped by geometry, material continuity and a shared orientation toward the sea.

The primary volume, partially embedded into the hillside, defines the core of the residence. A discreet vertical entry route leads into the sunken interior, where a calm sequence of living, dining, and private rooms unfolds around a shaded outdoor lounge. Skylights and planted courtyards bring natural light, cross-ventilation and glimpses of greenery deep into the plan. The experience is intimate and grounded: protected yet open to the view.

The second volume, set at a higher level, operates independently as a guesthouse. With its own entrance, living area and outdoor lounge, it offers autonomy while remaining visually and materially connected to the main residence. The two volumes are connected not through symmetry, but through alignment, texture and a shared architectural language.

Throughout the project, the use of exposed stone, raw concrete and natural wood establishes a tactile palette that echoes the tones and textures of the island. Stone paving and a linear water element connect the architecture to the terrain, allowing interior rhythms to flow outward. Dry stone retaining walls organize the site and carve out low, planted terraces, while a natural rock at the edge is left exposed, becoming part of the overall composition.
