Named “Horizon”, the project takes its cue from the sweeping views and the building’s horizontal lines, creating a sense of openness and calm that connects architecture and landscape.
This residential development in Filothei consists of three independent homes distributed across four levels, responding to the site’s natural topography. Each residence is designed to maximize privacy, generous outdoor space, and unobstructed views, while the overall volume maintains a clear and unified architectural identity.
The design is defined by its strong horizontal expression and clean, linear forms. Exposed concrete slabs frame each floor, forming expanded terraces and tracing the building’s outline in clean, horizontal lines. These elements lend the building a distinct identity while allowing it to settle harmoniously within its verdant surroundings. Private pools extend from the building’s upper terraces, reinforcing the linear composition and integrating water as a design element.
Timber sliding panels introduce a second, more tactile rhythm across the exterior, offering privacy, shade, and a warm contrast to the raw concrete. The overall composition is minimal and balanced, shaped by proportion, repetition, and the interplay between solid and open space.
Through natural materials, layered planting, and expansive openings, the architecture maintains a seamless dialogue with the landscape — cultivating a calm atmosphere of subtle elegance.
